Gather my Lodge

This is a Brighton Lodge initiative to provide Freemasons, masonic widows, those with a masonic connection and the elderly with a FREE garden maintenance service to allow them to enjoy their home and garden. This is for people who have no other options, live alone and sometimes may feel forgotten in a busy society;

We do this as a real life application of the Masonic Values of providing relief to the community and we do this together reflecting the Brotherly Love we have for each other.

We usually invite our children to join us in providing relief to our community to teach them the values of respect, charity and working together.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As this is a FREE service, we limit it to those who have no other options and cannot afford a real gardening service.

What is the service?

Brighton Freemasons help the elderly within the Bayside community who require assistance with their basic gardening needs to enable them to enjoy their front and back yard.

Can anyone get access to this service?

No - this service is only available to the elderly who have no friends, relatives or adult children who can help.

Can I access this service if I pay for it?

No - this is not a business but a group of well meaning freemasons trying to help those who have no one who can help them.

What size jobs are suitable for the Gather my Lodge crew?

As there will be many people onsite for each client job, there needs to be enough work to fill a green council bin.

Do I have to be a freemason or have a masonic connection to qualify?

No - this service is usually for Masonic Widows or Freemasons unable to do their gardening, it's also available to those who have no other options within the community.

Are the people attending actual gardeners, arborists or tradesmen?

No we are not gardeners but are employed in various other fields including finance, IT, Marketing, Management, etc. but do this to help the community as part of our Masonic Values.

Do you offer other services besides basic gardening?

No. We only provide basic services such as lawn mowing, weeding, pruning, raking & sweeping.

Can you cut down a tree?

No. We are not allowed to climb ladders or perform specialist services like tree removal.

Can I book you in for a specific time and day?

Unfortunately not. Our volunteers work during the week. We schedule our work on Saturday mornings on a first come first served basis, therefore there may be a little wait.

Will you accept any token of appreciation for the work done?

A warm 'thank you' is more than enough - no other gratuity or thanks is needed as we are all volunteers and gladly give up our time to help those who need help.
